The Department of Computer Application at GJIMT organized an enriching industry trip for BCA and MCA students. The focus of the trip was to introduce students to advanced networking techniques, traffic management systems, and the intricacies of E-Governance, all through the lens of Chandigarh’s Smart City Project.
During the visit, students were given an in-depth tour of the district digitalization services provided under the project. They had the unique opportunity to learn directly from IT experts and technology mavens who demonstrated the real-time application of networking systems in public infrastructure and governance. These professionals provided insights into how digital systems are integrated for effective traffic management, public service digitization, and overall urban planning.
The site visit highlighted the importance of networking technologies in managing the modern city’s digital infrastructure. Students were able to gain hands-on understanding of the role these technologies play in improving public services and governance, making the trip both informative and inspiring.
The industry trip served as a practical extension of the students’ curriculum, exposing them to the technological advancements being implemented to make Chandigarh a Smart City. This hands-on experience was invaluable in enhancing their knowledge and future readiness in the IT industry.
