Kargil Vijay Diwas was commemorated with profound reverence and patriotic fervor to honor India’s victorious stand in the Kargil War of 1999 and to pay tribute to the brave soldiers who laid down their lives. GJIMT NCC Cadets actively participated and this observance took place at Gurugobind Singh VidyaMandir School, Ratwara Sahib.
On July 25, a Poster-Making competition was organized, showcasing the creative expressions of NCC Cadets from various units. The competition served as a meaningful prelude to the main observance, highlighting the artistic and patriotic spirit of the participants.
The main ceremony on July 26 commenced with Lt. Col. AnupPathania lighting candles in memory of the martyrs, followed by a solemn salute from the NCC cadets. This gesture honored the valor and sacrifices of the soldiers who fought in the Kargil War. Families of the martyrs were present as chief guests, adding a personal touch to the tributes.
The event was further enhanced by the presence of NCC cadets from multiple schools and colleges, Associate NCC Officers (ANO), Caretaker Officers (CTO), and NCC staff members. Lt. Col. AnupPathania delivered a moving address, reflecting on the heroism of Indian soldiers and celebrating their indomitable courage and sacrifice.
In addition to the tributes, Lt. Col. Pathania presented prizes to the winners of the poster-making competition. GJIMT’s cadets—Aditya, Shivang, and Bijnesh—were honored with bravery medals for their outstanding contributions. The ceremony concluded with the rendition of the NCC song, which fostered a deep sense of unity and patriotism among all present.
