GJIMT Rotaractors Celebrate National Girl Child Day with Unprivileged Girls in Mohali
Mohali, 24 January 2022 – Gian Jyoti Institute of Management and Technology (GJIMT) observed National Girl Child Day with a heartfelt celebration involving unprivileged girls from Mohali. The event was conducted in a hybrid mode, combining both in-person activities and an online webinar. Themed “Empower the Girl Child and Spread Happiness,” the celebration focused on spreading awareness about gender equality and the importance of empowering young girls to unlock their potential.
As part of the celebration, GJIMT Rotaractors crafted vibrant posters to promote the message of girl empowerment, while the young girls joyfully expressed themselves by imprinting their colorful handprints on a wall, symbolizing unity and hope for a brighter future.
In his motivational address, Mr. J.S. Bedi, Chairman of Gian Jyoti Group of Institutions, stressed the importance of providing girls with equal opportunities to grow into empowered citizens. He quoted the famous saying, “If you educate a girl, you educate a nation,” and urged the community to work towards ensuring every girl is nurtured and given the right to thrive.
The event also featured an online webinar for students, focusing on the role of education and empowerment in overcoming societal barriers faced by girls. This session provided valuable insights and strategies for fostering equality and encouraging inclusive growth.
Dr. Aneet Bedi, Director of GJIMT, applauded the Rotaractors for their initiative and encouraged them to continue organizing similar activities. She emphasized that such events not only spread awareness but also inspire collective action toward building a more equal society.
