On February 4, 2022, Gian Jyoti Institute of Management and Technology (GJIMT) organized an engaging Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Designing & Resolving Case Studies” at its campus conference room. The session, part of GJIMT’s ongoing FDP series, was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Arunesh Garg, an expert in management education and experiential teaching methodologies.
The programme aimed to equip faculty members with the skills to design and effectively resolve case studies as a dynamic teaching tool. Dr. Garg emphasized the significance of case-based learning in bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world application. He provided actionable insights into structuring impactful case studies, selecting relatable business scenarios, and crafting resolution strategies that encourage analytical thinking and decision-making.
During the session, participants explored:
Techniques for identifying and framing real-world issues into case studies.
Methods to drive student engagement through interactive and thought-provoking discussions.
Best practices for guiding students in analyzing, resolving, and reflecting on case-based problems.
The workshop included hands-on activities where faculty members collaboratively developed and resolved case studies, enhancing their understanding of this pedagogical approach. Dr. Garg’s interactive delivery style and expertise added immense value, leaving participants inspired to incorporate these techniques into their classrooms.
The FDP concluded with a vote of thanks and the distribution of certificates to all participants. Faculty members expressed appreciation for the enriching experience and the practical tools they gained to make learning more impactful for students.
This initiative underscores GJIMT’s commitment to fostering excellence in education by empowering faculty with innovative teaching methodologies that prepare students for real-world challenges.
