GJIMT Organizes One-Week Faculty Development Programme on Outcome-Based Education (OBE) 1.0

25th May , 2024

From May 20 to 24, 2024, Gian Jyoti Institute of Management and Technology (GJIMT), Mohali, successfully conducted a comprehensive one-week Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Outcome-Based Education 1.0.” The FDP aimed to empower educators with advanced techniques and methodologies to integrate Outcome-Based Education (OBE) into their teaching practices, making learning more impactful and student-centric.

Outcome-Based Education (OBE) is a forward-thinking educational approach that focuses on achieving predefined learning outcomes. During the five-day session, educators delved into the core principles of OBE, which prioritizes student learning outcomes over traditional content-based teaching. Participants engaged in hands-on sessions and collaborative activities to understand how to design curriculum, assessment, and teaching strategies that align with these outcomes.

The FDP provided valuable insights into how faculty members can develop and implement an OBE framework in their institutions. Discussions included effective ways to measure learning achievements, create meaningful assessments, and design instructional methods that ensure students meet desired competencies.

This initiative reflects GJIMT’s commitment to enhancing the quality of education and ensuring that faculty members are equipped with innovative tools to meet the demands of modern education. The program concluded with positive feedback from participants, who appreciated the relevance and applicability of the knowledge shared during the sessions.
