Faculty Development Programme on “Activity and Project-Based Learning”

A Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Activity and Project-Based Learning” was successfully conducted from July 6 to July 10, 2015, at Gian Jyoti Institute of Management and Technology (GJIMT), Mohali. Sponsored by Punjab Technical University (PTU) with a grant , the program aimed to equip educators with innovative teaching methodologies to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.

The FDP witnessed the participation of 33 faculty members from various institutions across the region, and featured 9 distinguished resource persons from academia and industry.

Under the mentorship and guidance of Sh. J.S. Bedi, Chairman of Gian Jyoti Group of Institutions, the program was convened and coordinated by Dr. Vimal K. Aggarwal, Director, GJIMT and Dr. Aneet, Dean, Academics, GJIMT

Key highlights of the program included:

  • Workshops and interactive sessions on integrating project-based learning into curricula.
  • Strategies for implementing activity-driven teaching methods.
  • Discussions on leveraging hands-on experiences to foster critical thinking and problem-solving skills among students.

The sessions were well-received, and participants praised the practical insights and tools provided for modernizing classroom instruction

In his address, Sh. J.S. Bedi emphasized the importance of adopting student-centric learning approaches to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and real-world application.

The FDP concluded with the distribution of participation certificates by Sh J S Bedi, and a vote of thanks by Dr Aneet
