The African Students Meet 2023, organized by the International Students Club at Gian Jyoti Institute of Management and Technology (GJIMT), was a vibrant celebration of the rich cultural heritage and diverse backgrounds of African students from across the globe. This extraordinary event was held under the mentorship of Prof. Gurdeepak Singh and Dr. Dipneet Saini, and showcased GJIMT’s commitment to fostering cross-cultural relationships and embracing diversity.
The success of the event was further enriched by the generous support from Hola India and Goviza, whose contributions played a key role in making the African Students Meet a resounding success. The presence of distinguished Guests of Honor added prestige to the event, with Chief Guest Mr. Baker Baluywa, Education Attaché from the Uganda High Commission, and Guest of Honor Mr. Muniru Kadiri, Counsellor-Head Consular Affairs from the Ghana High Commission, sharing their insights and encouraging the students.
The day was filled with a multitude of activities and competitions, celebrating the talents of students across various domains:
Cultural Performances: Including dance, singing, and fashion shows, showcasing the vibrant traditions of African nations.
Sports Events: Ranging from badminton, volleyball, basketball, to football, the sports activities highlighted the athletic prowess of the participants.
Extempore Speeches: Students exhibited their intellectual abilities and quick thinking in this thrilling competition.
The event culminated in the crowning of champions in each of these categories, with the atmosphere buzzing with enthusiasm, camaraderie, and joy. The African Students Meet 2023 was a testament to the power of cultural exchange and celebrating diversity, reflecting the inclusive values upheld by GJIMT.
