Gian Jyoti Institute of Management and Technology celebrated Basant Panchmi with full zeal and zest at its campus in Phase-2, Mohali. The day was celebrated with great fervour and enthusiasm. Saraswati puja was performed to seek the blessings of Goddess followed by ‘Saraswati Vandana’.Students and Staff came dressed in yellow color. Students participated in Kite flying competition.
Mr. J.S.Bedi, Chairman, Gian Jyoti Group of Institutions said that this festival marks the end of winter season and welcomes the arrival of spring season. The College was decorated with yellow rangoli and kites. The students showcased the vibrant tradition of Punjab depicting the spirit of inner freedom, creative pride and zest for life.
Mr. Bedi further said that Basant Panchami is a festival that marks the arrival of spring. It is celebrated by people in various ways depending on the region. Basant Panchami stand for fifth day of spring. Vasant Panchami also marks the start of preparation for holiday and holi which occurs forty days later.
