During her address, Her Excellency Ms. Mia Yen, the Consul General of the Canadian High Commission, highlighted the significance of campaigns like ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao,’ which address critical issues such as female foeticide and girls’ right to education. She emphasized how such campaigns have successfully raised mass awareness and helped in transforming societal attitudes towards gender equality.
On National Girl Child Day 2020, GJIMT Mohali supported the ‘Girls Rise Mohali’ initiative, which honored remarkable women who have made significant contributions to society. The ceremony was a moment to celebrate the achievements of these women and encourage others to break barriers.
Chairman Sh. J S Bedi and Director Dr. Aneet Bedi also congratulated the female achievers, commending their success and motivating the community to continue supporting equal opportunities for girls. They emphasized the importance of empowering girls, urging society to provide them with the resources and encouragement needed to thrive and achieve their fullest potential.
