In an effort to foster civic responsibility and promote a cleaner, greener environment, the NSS Team of Gian Jyoti Institute of Management and Technology (GJIMT), under the esteemed guidance of Honourable Director Dr. Aneet, collaborated with MC Mohali to organize a Cleanliness Drive on February 5th, 2024. This initiative saw a robust participation of 48 dedicated NSS volunteers along with faculty members Ms. Jyoti and Dr. Shiv, all working in unison to make a meaningful impact on the community.
The Cleanliness Drive was organized with a two-fold purpose:
The event, filled with enthusiasm and community spirit, was much more than a cleanliness drive—it became a platform for spreading environmental consciousness and fostering solidarity among the people. As the volunteers combed through the streets, collecting litter and educating locals, the importance of collaboration in tackling environmental challenges was palpable.
The participation of NSS volunteers and faculty members in this drive is a reflection of GJIMT’s strong commitment to social responsibility and environmental sustainability. The drive not only cleaned the surroundings but also empowered individuals to adopt sustainable practices, thus contributing to a healthier environment for future generations.
Dr. Aneet Bedi, Director of GJIMT, expressed her heartfelt appreciation for the efforts of all participants and emphasized the need for such grassroots initiatives. She praised the NSS Team for their dedication and service, highlighting how collective efforts can lead to significant societal impact.
This Cleanliness Drive stands as a shining example of community engagement and environmental stewardship at GJIMT. It serves as an inspiration for similar initiatives in the future, reaffirming the institution’s role as a leader in promoting sustainable practices and social change.
