As part of its 50th Anniversary Celebrations, Gian Jyoti Global School Mohali conducted an Inter-school Bani Diwas Competition at the School campus on 9th and 10th May 2024. This event spread over 2 days, dedicated to imparting the teachings of our Gurus to today’s generation, witnessed spirited participation from more than 500 students from over 50 schools of the region.
The Bani Diwas competition, divided into two age groups – under 12 years and over 12 years, showcased the vibrant talent and passion of young minds in three riveting categories:

Saakhi Path Mukabla: Students enthralled the audience with their profound understanding and heartfelt recitations of saakhis, recounting tales of courage, compassion, and wisdom from Sikh history and tradition. In Saakhi Competition 1st Prize was won by Mr Jasmat Singh, 2nd Prize by Ms Satgun Kaur and 3rd Prize was won by Rajveer Singh and Gurleen Sandhu.
Punjabi Bhashan Mukabla: Oratory skills were put to the test as participants eloquently expressed their views. The 1st Prize was won by Ms Anureet Kaur, 2nd Prize by Harnavroop Kaur and the 3rd prize was won by Yuvraj Singh Dhaliwal in this category.

Shabad Gayan Mukabla: The air resonated with divine melodies as students poured their hearts into soul-stirring renditions of Shabads, invoking spiritual resonance and connecting the audience with the essence of Sikh spirituality. 1st prize winner was AKSIPS School, 2ND Prize by GJGS Mohali and the 3rd Prize was won by AKSIPS-65 Mohali. While in the Above 12 Years Category, the 1st Prize was won by Guru Gobind Singh Vidya Mandir Senior Secondary School, 2nd Prize by Shivalik Public School, Phase 6 Mohali and 3rd Prize was won by Paragon Senior Secondary School Sec 71, Mohali.
The winners were awarded over Rs. 50000 of cash prizes across various categories and age groups.
Bhai Sahab Bhai Jagbeer Singh, a renowned Katha Vachak, graced the occasion as the guest of honor, adding a touch of spiritual grace and wisdom to the event.
The event not only provided a platform for showcasing talent but also fostered cultural exchange and mutual respect among students from different backgrounds. It exemplified Gian Jyoti Global School’s commitment to nurturing holistic development and fostering pride in cultural heritage among the youth.
Speaking on the occasion, Founder Director Principal Mrs. Ranjeet Bedi expressed gratitude to all participants, teachers, and staff whose dedication and hard work made the Bani Diwas competition a resounding success. Mrs. Bedi emphasized the importance of such initiatives in preserving and promoting Punjabi culture and values among the younger generation.
