World Red Cross Day

Red Ribbon Club of Gian Jyoti Institute of Management and Technology celebrated World Red Cross Day at its campus in Phase-2, Mohali. This year theme is Love and aims to broaden the public’s understanding of the society by highlighting the diversity and universality of its work and approach.

Mr. J.S.Bedi, Chairman, Gian Jyoti Group of Institutions while speaking on the occasion said that Red Cross Day is celebrated to pay tribute to Jean Henry Dunant, the founder of the Red Cross movement and to mark the birth anniversary of the great man.

Mr. Bedi further said that this day is celebrated to create a peaceful surrounding throughout the universe. In case of any emergency situation, World Red Cross Volunteers handles and tackles public from vulnerable place to safe place and safeguard them from any eventuality. They do help during the time of war. Sometimes financial help is also offered by World Red Cross to suffering human being.
