GJIMT Convocation Ceremony 2003

1st November 2003

The second convocation of Gian Jyoti Institute of Management and Technology (GJIMT), Mohali, was held with great dignity and pride on 1st November 2003. The occasion saw the conferring of degrees to 200 MBAs and BCAs from the institute. The event was graced by Sh. Y.S. Rajan, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar, and Scientific Advisor to the Chief Minister of Punjab, who was the Chief Guest.

Sh. Y.S. Rajan awarded degrees to students of the 3rd and 4th batch of MBA and the 1st and 2nd batch of BCA. During his convocation address, Sh. Rajan emphasized the need for students to embrace an entrepreneurial spirit as regular job opportunities are becoming scarce. He praised private-sector institutions like GJIMT for offering better job placement opportunities compared to public-sector institutes.

The ceremony commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and a recital of Saraswati Vandana by the students. As a mark of recognition, robes of honor were presented to Riti Chaudhry, Meeta Nanchal, Rupa, and Randeep Kaur for their outstanding achievements in the MBA and BCA programs for the batches 2000-2002 and 2001-2003.

Adding to the celebration, Prof. Rajan also released the inaugural edition of GYAN, the institute’s maiden newsletter, edited by Mr. Anil Kumar and Mr. Shiv Kumar Sr. Lecturer. The newsletter represents the combined efforts of the students and staff and aims to evolve into a comprehensive Management and Technology Journal.

The convocation was a memorable event, reflecting GJIMT’s unwavering commitment to academic excellence and professional growth.
