Gian Jyoti Institute of Management and Technology (GJIMT), Phase 2 Mohali, commemorated World AIDS Day with an impactful session on HIV/AIDS Awareness and a creative poster-making activity by students. The event aimed to educate students about the prevention, treatment, and societal challenges surrounding HIV/AIDS while fostering creativity and advocacy.
The awareness talk, organised by GJIMT’s Red Ribbon club, provided detailed insights into the causes, modes of transmission, and advancements in the treatment of HIV. They emphasized the need to eliminate stigma and discrimination, promoting empathy and understanding toward those affected.
As part of the observance, students showcased their creativity through a poster-making activity, expressing powerful messages about HIV prevention, awareness, and solidarity. The vibrant posters displayed during the event served as a visual reminder of the importance of collective action in combating the disease.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Aneet, Director GJIMT, said, “It is crucial for young minds to understand the impact of HIV/AIDS, not just as a health issue but also as a social responsibility. Awareness and compassion are key to breaking the stigma and making a positive difference.”
