GJIMT Shines at PTU Inter-College Badminton Tournament 2006

Gian Jyoti Institute of Management and Technology (GJIMT) displayed remarkable sportsmanship at the PTU Inter-College Badminton Tournament 2006, held from September 14 to September 16 at Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Engineering College, Fatehgarh Sahib, Punjab. A total of six players from GJIMT (three men and three women) participated in the tournament, which saw fierce competition among 64 teams in the men’s category and 38 teams in the women’s category.

The women’s team delivered an outstanding performance, securing a bronze medal by defeating GZSECT, Bathinda, in a thrilling match. Although they narrowly missed advancing to the finals after a semifinal loss to CIET, Rajpura, their resilience and determination were commendable.

The men’s team fought valiantly but faced a tough challenge in the quarterfinals against BBSBCET, Fatehgarh Sahib.

Faculty members Mr. Shiv Kumar Pawar and Mr. Kapil Prashar guided the teams throughout the tournament, contributing to their success and enriching their experience. This achievement highlights GJIMT’s dedication to promoting excellence in academics and extracurricular activities, fostering well-rounded development for its students.
