Gian Jyoti Institute of Management and Technology (GJIMT), Mohali, on 14th November 2003, organized an enlightening seminar on “Technology Business Management and Globalization.” The session featured insights from Shri Y.S. Rajan, then Vice-Chancellor of Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar, and Scientific Advisor to the Chief Minister of Punjab.
During his address, Shri Y.S. Rajan emphasized how the interface of technology, globalization, and business management is reshaping the global economic landscape. He highlighted key historical developments, including the Industrial Revolution and technological advancements like motorized airplanes and microcomputers, underscoring their impact on modern commerce.
Shri Rajan urged students and faculty to stay vigilant and innovative, preparing for continuous technological shifts. He stressed that technical and management professionals must adapt to the evolving market forces or risk becoming obsolete.
Prof. B.B. Tandon, Director of GJIMT, reinforced this message by praising the visionary leadership of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam and Shri Y.S. Rajan in driving India’s transformation to meet globalization challenges.
