Promoting Sanitation and Dignity: Screening of ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ at GJIMT

The NSS and Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) of Gian Jyoti Institute of Management and Technology (GJIMT) organized a special screening of the film Toilet: Ek Prem Katha to highlight the critical issue of sanitation and its impact on women’s health, safety, and dignity, particularly in rural areas. The event aimed to inspire students to reflect on societal challenges and contribute towards creating a more inclusive and aware community.

The screening was attended by 90 students from various programs, including MBA, MCA, BBA, BCA. The session began with an insightful address by NSS Coordinator, Mr. Jagvinder Thakur, who underscored the importance of addressing sanitation issues and breaking societal taboos associated with them. The film’s compelling narrative captivated the audience, shedding light on the urgent need for proper sanitation facilities in rural India.

Following the screening, students actively participated in a discussion, sharing their thoughts on the film’s message and its relevance to real-world issues. Many students expressed their interest in joining future community outreach programs organized by NSS to promote hygiene and sanitation awareness.
