FOOTPRINTS of Kindness: Shoe Donation Drive Organized by GJIMT

The FOOTPRINTS of Kindness Shoe Donation Drive, organized by the enthusiastic student members of the Rotaract Club of GJIMT, Mohali, left a lasting mark on the community. Held in August 2023, this week-long initiative aimed to promote compassion and generosity by collecting gently worn shoes for those in need. With overwhelming support from students, faculty, and staff, the drive successfully gathered an impressive 122 pairs of shoes, ranging from children’s to adult sizes, including sneakers, sandals, and formal shoes.

The donated shoes were distributed among the residents of Mallu Majra, offering them the gift of comfort and dignity. This effort not only provided for the underprivileged but also contributed to environmental sustainability by extending the lifecycle of footwear and reducing the burden on landfills. The impact of the drive went beyond material donations—it fostered a sense of community care, bringing people together for a shared cause and creating a ripple effect of positive change.
