GJIMT recently hosted an impactful screening of the film Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl, a stirring depiction of the true story of India’s pioneering female Air Force officer who flew combat missions during the 1999 Kargil War. The film, which highlights the courage and resilience of Wing Commander Gunjan Saxena, captivated the audience and sparked meaningful discussions.
Following the screening, the NSS (National Service Scheme) team at GJIMT facilitated a feedback session to gather insights from students about their perspectives on the movie. This interactive session provided a platform for students to express their thoughts on the film’s portrayal of military service and gender dynamics, as well as to discuss the broader implications for women in defense roles.
In addition to the feedback discussion, the coordinator shared valuable information about the various opportunities available for girls in the field of defense. The session aimed to inspire and inform students about potential career paths and the significant impact women can have in the armed forces.
The event, organized by GJIMT NSS, was a great success, fostering engagement and dialogue on important issues while highlighting the trailblazing achievements of women in defense.
