Gian Jyoti Institute of Management and Technology (GJIMT) successfully hosted a two-week program on “Contemporary Issues in Management Education” from March 19 to March 30, 2007. The program was conducted in the GJIMT Conference Hall and was convened by Dr. R.P. Gupta. The initiative was funded by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
The program aimed to explore and address current challenges and trends in management education. It brought together a diverse group of 24 participants and featured 26 resource persons, delivering four sessions each day.
The inaugural session on March 19, 2007, was graced by Prof. Dr. Prem Kumar, Director of Aurobindo Business School, Ludhiana, who shared insights on aligning management education with industry expectations. The valedictory session on March 30, 2007, was presided over by Dr. Satish Kapoor, Chairman of University Business School (UBS), Punjab University, Chandigarh. He also served as the expert and chief guest for the program, emphasizing the importance of adapting curricula to emerging global trends.
Participants benefitted from a wide range of discussions on contemporary topics, including globalization, technological advancements, and innovative teaching methodologies in management education. The interactive sessions and expert-led discussions provided attendees with actionable insights and strategies to implement in their academic and professional pursuits.
