Gian Jyoti Institute of Management and Technology (GJIMT), Mohali organized a two-week Staff Development Program titled “Management Education: The Road Ahead” from January 3 to January 16, 2006. The program, mentored by Sh. J.S. Bedi, Chairman, GJIMT, and convened by Prof. Dr. R.P. Gupta, Director GJIMT, aimed to explore emerging trends and future directions in management education.
The initiative was supported by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) with a grant-in-aid .
The inaugural session, held on January 3, 2006, was graced by Dr. S.K. Salwan, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of Punjab Technical University (PTU), Jalandhar. In his keynote address, Dr. Salwan highlighted the importance of aligning management education with industry demands and global challenges.
The program featured 34 distinguished resource persons from academia and industry, who conducted insightful sessions and workshops on contemporary issues and innovative practices in management education. The interactive format encouraged meaningful engagement among the 23 participants from various institutions in the region.
The valedictory session on January 16, 2006, was presided over by Prof. Dr. M.A. Zahir, who lauded the program’s efforts in addressing critical aspects of management education. Certificates were distributed to the participants by Sh. J.S. Bedi, Chairman GJIMT, who reiterated the institute’s commitment to fostering excellence in education.
