Gian Jyoti Institute of Management and Technology (GJIMT), Mohali, commemorated World Water Day 2023 by fostering awareness and encouraging innovative solutions to tackle global water-related challenges. The event saw active participation from students, faculty, and staff, all united in their commitment to promoting water conservation and sustainable management practices.
Mr. J.S. Bedi, Chairman of GJIMT, underscored the pressing need for water conservation in the face of growing environmental concerns and water scarcity. He called for the adoption of innovative solutions to address these issues and emphasized the responsibility of each individual to use water wisely. Educational institutions, he said, play a pivotal role in cultivating awareness and driving action toward sustainable water management.
In her address, Dr. Aneet Bedi, Director of GJIMT, reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to environmental sustainability. She stressed the need for collective action to safeguard water resources for future generations and urged students and staff alike to take proactive measures in their daily lives to conserve water.
The event also featured significant contributions from NSS volunteers and NCC cadets of GJIMT, who organized an awareness campaign to educate the community about water conservation and the importance of water stewardship.
